"Bee in a bottle" is taken from Precious Bane when Prue tells Gideon that everything that the parson says sounds "like a bee in a bottle" This phrase is indicative of Mary Webb's artistry with words and how I have been hooked for the last 20years.Her love of the Shropshire landscape and its rural characters ring just as true today.Undoubtedly my favourite author.
